Competing in my first 100m Individual Medley     

Hampshire Masters in Fleet - 22/06/24

This was a massive personal achievement and a huge learning curve. I have had to learn how to swim butterfly, (not easy!) and combine putting all the IM strokes together.
I have only competed in Freestyle since returning to competitive swimming in 2021 following my colostomy in 2019.

This is one of 25 challenges I felt inspired to set in September 2023 which marked the 25 years since my life was changed by birth injury.

Birth injury has cost me many things and I cannot get back the time lost over the decades. Now I am making up for it.
My stoma has given me my life back and I am embracing ostomy life fully.

I was delighted to be asked to speak on behalf of MASIC at St George’s Hospital PPHS awareness day. I met an amazing team of passionate individuals committed to providing excellent maternity care. Thank you to Ade, Nataja and to everyone attended the training day.
